Textured and smooth fine art cotton rag, photo, and poster papers from Hahnemühle, Epson, Canon, and Breathing Color, printed with Canon LUCIA PRO II archival pigmented inks rated for 100+ years of lightfastness.
Canvas Prints
Gallery wrap with mirrored or solid edges, framing wrap, or rolled. Printed on standard canvas or archival Chromata canvas (no optical brighteners) using archival pigmented inks. Each canvas is stretched over custom-cut poplar stretcher bars and finished with a UV protective matte or glossy coating.
Metal Prints
Chromaluxe HD aluminum panels produced using dye-sublimation for vibrant color and detail, offering a more refined finish than direct-to-metal printing. Available in gloss white, matte white, gloss silver, or matte silver. Waterproof, scratch-resistant, and ready to hang.

For the most accurate fine art reproduction, we recommend having your original artwork professionally scanned or photographed. If you're capturing it yourself, the guidelines below will improve your file quality before ordering.

If you photograph it yourself

File setup
Best file setup for fine art printing.
Good printing starts with a strong file. Use a high-resolution image with the right format, color space, and detail preserved for the best results.
Resolution
We recommend 300 dpi at the final print size whenever possible for the best detail and sharpness.
Preferred file types
TIFF files are preferred for maximum quality. High-quality JPEGs can also work well if they haven't been repeatedly resaved and compressed.
Color space
Adobe RGB offers a wider color gamut than sRGB or CMYK and is often preferred for high-quality art and photography printing.
JPEG vs TIFF
JPEG files use lossy compression, which can reduce image quality over time, especially after repeated edits and saves. TIFF files preserve more image data and don't lose quality the same way when reopened and resaved, making them a strong choice for fine art printing.
Monitor calibration and soft proofing
A calibrated monitor makes a significant difference in how accurately your image displays before printing. Without calibration, what you see on screen may not closely match the final print. Soft proofing in Photoshop using ICC profiles helps preview how color and contrast will reproduce on a specific paper or canvas. However, once you know which substrate you plan to print on, we recommend requesting one of our free calibration cards to dial in your display for the most accurate results. Learn more →

What do I need to get started?
You need an image file, either a scan of your original artwork or a photograph.
How do I capture my original artwork?
The best way is to send it to Picture Salon. We can professionally capture your artwork and produce a color-accurate reproduction. If that's not possible, use a high-resolution camera, even lighting, and keep the lens parallel to the artwork.
What resolution should my file be?
We recommend original size at 300 dpi whenever possible for the best print quality.
Do you review files before printing?
Yes. Every file is reviewed by a real person before printing. If something looks too small, blurry, or not suited for the selected print option, we contact you before moving forward.
Can I order custom sizes and add borders?
Yes. We offer flexible sizing including many custom options. Border options can also be added during ordering, no need to manually prep a new version of your file each time.
Do you charge setup fees?
No. Print pricing covers the substrate, labor, and ink. The only charge beyond your selected print options is shipping.
Once I pay the proofing fee, do I pay it again?
No. Once colors are corrected to your satisfaction for a given image, there is no additional proofing fee for that image in the future. You only pay the per-print charge.
Do you keep my files for future reorders?
Yes. We maintain and back up your files for print-on-demand reorders so future prints can match previous orders as closely as possible.
How long do your prints last?
We use archival materials and pigmented inks designed for long-lasting performance. Depending on the substrate and display conditions, prints may last approximately 60–200 years. Avoid displaying prints in direct sunlight.
Are my image files secure and private?
Yes. We maintain your files indefinitely, back them up, and keep them secure. We do not share your files or create prints from your artwork without your consent.
Do you offer drop shipping?
Yes. Enter your customer's shipping address at checkout. We use your name and return address, and the package will not include our invoice, so it appears to come directly from you. Tracking information is sent to you for every order.
Can you provide certificates of authenticity?
Yes, for an additional fee.
Shipping original artwork
How to pack original artwork for shipping.
If you're sending original artwork to Picture Salon for capture or reproduction, proper packaging helps protect your work in transit.
Recommended packing method
- Place a protective tissue over the artwork
- Sandwich the artwork between cardboard or foam core
- Wrap the protected artwork in plastic or a large plastic bag
- Sandwich the package again in cardboard or foam core
- Keep artwork corners at least one inch from the outer edge of the package
- Reinforce corners if needed for extra protection
Original artwork policy
Original artwork submitted for scanning, printing, or handling is accepted at the customer's risk. Please review our full original artwork handling and liability policy before shipping valuable materials.
Proofing options
See it before you commit to the full order.
Add a mailed proof at checkout and approve the look before the rest of the job moves forward. Allow 4–5 business days for the proof, then your normal turnaround begins after approval.
Single proof
Your file printed as submitted at your chosen size. Confirm the result before committing to the full run.
Double proof
Your file as submitted, plus a second version with our suggested adjustments, such as brightening, lightening, or white balance correction. Comparing both gives you confidence before the full run.
Prefer to handle color adjustments yourself?
Download our free ICC profiles, soft-proof in Photoshop, and select "do not optimize" at checkout. We'll print your file exactly as prepared.
